KAS Scaffolding Directors to speak at NASC ScaffEx26!

What nobody tells you about starting your own scaffolding firm

17 June 2026

At KAS Scaffolding, we are always looking for ways to share our journey and give back to the industry that has given us so much. That is why we are incredibly proud to announce that our directors, Adam Millgate and Shane Wood, will be taking the stage to speak at the upcoming NASC ScaffEx26.

Taking place on 10–11 September 2026 at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, ScaffEx26 is widely recognised as the world's biggest scaffolding and access industry event.

What to Expect at ScaffEx26

Organised by the National Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC), ScaffEx26 brings together an exhibition, a conference, and the Scaffolding Excellence Awards all under one roof.

For those attending the event, you can expect:

  • A massive exhibition hall featuring top suppliers and service providers from across the UK.

  • An engaging conference bringing together thought leaders and experts to discuss safety, workforce skills, and business success.

  • Live product demonstrations and a dedicated Safety Area.

Taking the Stage: "What nobody tells you about starting your own scaffolding firm"

Adam and Shane will be stepping up to the microphone on Thursday to deliver their featured presentation, "What nobody tells you about starting your own scaffolding firm".

Building KAS Scaffolding from the ground up has been a journey filled with long hours, complex logistical challenges, and immense rewards. In their session, scheduled from 12.45pm to 1.30pm, Adam and Shane will be pulling back the curtain on the realities of business ownership in the scaffolding sector.

They will be discussing topics including:

  • The hidden challenges of transitioning from being on the tools to running the operational side of the business.

  • Why building a non-negotiable culture of safety and compliance is your biggest commercial asset.

  • The importance of surrounding yourself with the right team and leaning on strong industry networks.

  • Real, unfiltered lessons learned during the early days of establishing KAS Scaffolding.

Whether you are a new business owner, an aspiring entrepreneur, or just curious about what it takes to scale a scaffolding operation in today's competitive market, this is a session you won't want to miss.

See You in Manchester!

We are thrilled to be part of an event that celebrates outstanding achievements and actively moves the scaffolding profession forward.

If you are heading to ScaffEx26, make sure to catch Adam and Shane's talk on Thursday afternoon, and come say hello! We are always eager to connect with industry peers, share fresh ideas, and discuss the future of safe, compliant scaffolding.

POPULAR QUESTIONS

What is your commitment to Health and Safety?

Safety is our top priority. All work is carried out to NASC standards with regular inspections, trained operatives, and clear risk assessments. No compromise.

How do I know that your company is the right fit for my requirements?

We work with a range of clients across residential, commercial and specialist sectors. Our flexibility, experience, and fast response times make us a reliable choice.

How does KAS being an NASC member benefit our project and what value does it add?

It means you get scaffolding delivered to the highest safety and compliance standards in the UK. It also ticks a big box for your own due diligence.

Do you work on smaller projects as well as large construction based ones?

Absolutely. While we handle major construction and commercial sites, we also take on smaller jobs with the same care and professionalism. Whether it’s a private residential scaffold or a temporary access solution for a local business, you’ll still get the full KAS experience. Safe, fast, and hassle-free.

Do scaffolders work in the rain?

If it’s safe to work, we work. Our team follows strict weather risk protocols and knows when to push on and when to pause.

What areas do you operate within and do you work nationwide?

We’re based in the South of England and operate across London and the Home Counties. This is our core service area, but we’re happy to discuss nationwide projects.

What industries do you work within?

Housing. Heritage. Retail. Education. Petrochemical. Healthcare. Commercial. We adjust our approach to fit the environment.

How long does it take to complete a project?

That depends on the complexity. Some setups take a day, others a few weeks. What we can promise is we’ll get you a clear timeline upfront.

How do you approach a new project?

We start with a conversation. Then we plan, quote, design (if needed), and deliver. It’s structured, fast, and built around your programme.
