Commissioned specifically for a high-profile outdoor event, the scope of works required the supply, erection, and rapid dismantling of two distinct scaffolding arrangements designed to support large-scale event signage. Comprising bays of advanced Layher System Scaffolding, the structures were programmed for a highly condensed turnaround, with erection commencing on the 21st of September and full dismantling taking place on the 23rd of September.
Operating within the fast-paced events sector presented unique logistical and structural constraints. The primary challenge was engineering a temporary structure capable of safely supporting large event signage in an open environment, which required relying entirely on an independent, non-penetrative stabilising method without structural ties to a building.
Furthermore, the extreme time constraints of the event dictated that the scaffolding had to be erected and dismantled flawlessly in a single operation, with no allowance for mid-project adaptations. This rapid deployment relied heavily on strict site coordination, including the necessity for adjacent parking and the express use of on-site forklifts for heavy material handling.
To meet the precise structural demands of the event, KAS Scaffolding delivered a fully engineered solution utilising Layher System Scaffolding. The Layher system provided the immense structural integrity and rapid assembly capabilities necessary to meet the demanding 48-hour event window. To achieve freestanding stability, the bespoke design incorporated Ground Anchors, ensuring the signage arrangements could safely withstand environmental loads.
Detailed designs, drawings, and structural calculations were created and distributed to the client in line with strict Temporary Works (TWC) requirements prior to commencement, guaranteeing a safe, compliant, and highly visible installation.
